Here's Why You Need to Check Out Your Alma Mater's Career Fair

When you visit your college’s Career Fair, you’re opening up your company to hundreds of resumes from fresh talent clamoring to work with you. At Fairfield’s Career Fair, that’s up to 700 students majoring in marketing, finance, communication, English, engineering, and information systems (and, truly, so much more), so prepare for a stampede.

2.  You know firsthand: The applicants are legit...

Of course you know there’s something special about the education at your school—you graduated from it! Because of your education (in part; the other part is probably your inherent awesomeness), you became a professional who thinks critically and independently, who knows how to lead—and collaborate—and who knows how to operate in a global economy. (If you’re one of our Fairfield alumni, you also learned to be men and women for others in that Jesuit tradition). What better service to provide for your employer than to help them net more amazing professionals *just like you.*

3.  ...And they're getting better all the time, because their school is too.

Seeing your campus evolve can make you proud to be a <insert your bold-sounding animal or warrior mascot here>. The gorgeous new workout facilities and air conditioned dorms are fun, necessary, and jealousy-inducing changes, but when you see state-of-the-art education spaces growing, you’re seeing signs that when the world’s expectations of a modern education are changing, your alma mater is listening, and creating a modern campus that meets and exceeds contemporary demands. And when your college has all the tools of the future at its students’ command? Well, let’s just say the prospects you’ll meet at the Career Fair will be ready to get to work *today.*

4.  You can be a hero (on Career Fair day)...

Students want to show off their impressive internships and the cool things they can do…but they also want to hear from you. By the time you meet students from your alma mater, you’ll have lived in both worlds, student and professional. You have the unique insight to tell them what the “real world” is like, and how they can get started toward landing the job of their dreams (which, let’s face it, is totally with you). You may be returning to recruit the next generation of great talent for your company, but you’ll find yourself being a mentor too. That’s super rewarding.

5.  …And, honestly, enjoy an excellent spread for your troubles.一道本不卡免费高清

It’s maybe the best reason to end this list on. When your college knows alumni are returning, it rolls out the red carpet. Here at Fairfield, for example, employers tell us we’ve got the best food on the Career Fair circuit—a perfect salad bar, delicious wraps, and chocolate chip cookies that are just *chef’s kiss.* Seriously, when you go back to your college for the Career Fair, don’t bring lunch. You won’t be sorry.

Each year, Fairfield University's Academic and Career Development Center hosts a Career Fair that welcomes almost 1,000 skilled students to connect with regional and national employers. Our next Career Fair takes place on September 26, and we want to help our alumni professionals meet the best upcoming talent around: Stags.
